About Our Imambargah

Imambargah Atiya Ahlebait (a.s.), located on Nicholson Road and founded by Dr. Syed Riaz Ali Shah, is one of the oldest and most spiritually significant Imambargahs in Pakistan. The Ashra-e-Majalis are held annually from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram. Among these, the majalis on the 6th and 9th of Muharram hold particular importance, making them events not to be missed.

Prominent scholars have graced this Imambargah over the decades, including the renowned Allama Talib Johri, who delivered Ashra-e-Majalis here in 1983. Allama Zulfiqar Hussain Naqvi also served for many years, while Molana Bashir Ansari contributed significantly in the 1960s and 1970s. Currently, Allama Absar Ali Naqvi delivers insightful and highly regarded majalis, attracting a large audience.

The majalis commence at approximately 6:30 AM, drawing thousands of attendees. On the 9th of Muharram, a grand procession takes place, featuring the symbolic Shabih-e-Zareeh of Imam Hussain (a.s.), along with Shabih-e-Zuljinah and Alam.
